Details

This refined Spanish white wine is produced by the highly talented, but still not so well-known Galician winemaker Eduardo Peña.

From his 7 hectares of vineyards planted with indigenous varieties on the banks of the Miño river,  he selected a blend of 50% Treixadura, 25% Loureira and 25% Albariño to produce María Andrea.

After a careful selection of the grapes, they were separately cold-macerated with carbonic snow and then fermented in stainless steel tanks.

Then this white wine from Galicia was aged on its lees for some weeks before its bottling.

Drink María Andrea 2017 from Ribeiro until 2022.

Additional Information

Appearance

The white wine María Andrea has a bright yellow colour with some greenish tinges.

Nose

This expressive white wine from Ribeiro suggests some intense notes of laurel and rosemary, alongside aromas of jasmine, yellow and white fruit, and a hint of marzipan and fennel.

Palate

Unctuous, savoury and defined by a surprising, unexpected minerality with suggestions of aromatic herbs, lime and white flowers. This white wine by Eduardo Peña has a crisp acidity and a long, complex finish.

Our personal opinion

Expressive and complex, María Andrea 2017 by Eduardo Peña is a great surprise from Ribeiro, Galicia.
