Marqués de Riscal Gran Reserva 2005 was produced by the Marqués de Riscal winery from vines over 80 years of age.
Manually harvested and exactingly selected, the grapes were vinified in stainless steel tanks.
After that, the wine was blended and then aged in French oak barrels for 32 months.
Marqués de Riscal Gran Reserva 2005 was aged for a futher 3 years in the cellar prior to its commercial release.
A wine that embodies the essence of traditional Rioja.
Drink now until 2020+.
Bright, clean cherry colour with a garnet rim and some russet tinges.
Intense, complex aromas of old wood, fine leather, undergrowth, Eastern spices, black fruit, toast, black truffles and vegetables.
Bold and round, with a crisp acidity and a great balance. Fruit and spices over a mineral and balsamic backgroud. This is Rioja classicism at its best. Long, toasted finish.
