Martin Miller has been crafting this elegant, smooth, and distinctive Gin since 1999. Martin Miller is is the product of a single distillation in a copper still from 1898. Interestingly, the water used in the production of this gin comes from glacier located off the western coast of Iceland, which is filtered by basaltic rocks. Furthermore, this gin has a unique set of added botanicals. These botanicals receive a gentle maceration in hot water for 24 hours with skins from citrus fruits (bitter orange, lemon, lime). Each part is then distilled separately. The botanicals used in Martin Miller's Gin are: Juniper, Juniper berry oil, coriander, angelica, liquorice root, cassia, and iris Florentine.
The distillation process of Martin Miller's Gin takes place England. After five distillations, the result is taken to Iceland in barrels and blended with the Icelandic spring water, which ranks among the purest in the world.
The 3,000 Mile Gin - the distance from England to Iceland - is presented in a modern transparent bottle with interior labels. This English Gin gin has a very clean and transparent appearance. The nose of this Gin is well-balanced with nuanced fruits and expressive citruses that are wrapped by subtle junipers, cucumbers, spices, and light floral notes. There is some sweetness. The palate of Martin Miller's Gin is very fresh and smooth, well-balanced, and aromatic (transferring its sensations for the palate back to the nose). You will notice the citrus from your first sip along with the botanic and floral notes. The finish is long and dry. This is a gin that we like to enjoy alone; however, it is also a very good cocktail gin and can make great Gin and tonics. We would enjoy these cocktails with a twist of lime, peppercorns, and juniper.
