Harvested by hand in mid October, the grapes were selected twice and carefully destemmed. Then they were fermented in stainless steel tanks at a controlled temperature.
After that, Mather Teresina wine was transferred into French oak barrels, where it completed malolactic fermentation and was aged for 20 months.
Finally, the wine was clarified with egg whites prior to its bottling.
This is an age-worthy red wine that will improve in the bottle for the next 8 years.
If you wish to enjoy it now, we strongly suggest that you decant it for at least 1 hour.
Intense claret colour with some mahogany tinges.
This Spanish red wine shows complex notes of jammy black fruit, some mineral undertones, dim notions of toast, a touch of dry earth and a subtle layer of liquorice, cocoa and coffee.
Meaty and round, conveying a sense of terroir and real elegance. Chocolate, cherries, black olives, blueberries, flowers and aromatic herbs fill the palate. Finely crafted texture, great acidity and very long, elegant finish.
|Our personal opinion||
Mather Teresina 2010 is a little-known jewel from a not-so-well-known region that will surprise the wine know-it-all.
