The new vintage of Nadal Salvatge Gran Reserva Brut is the first marketed under the Corpinnat label.
Legally constituted in 2017, Corpinnat is an association of high-level Catalan sparkling wine producers which decided to leave the Cava Designation due to disagreements regarding quality standards.
Made from a traditional blend, the main component of this Spanish sparkling wine is Macabeo (59%), coming from old vineyards located in the Boadella estate, owned by Cavas Nadal.
In fact, this Corpinnat sparkling wine is only produced in those vintages in which the Macabeo grapes achieve optimal levels of sugar and acidity. This time, the blend is completed with 31% Xarel·lo and 10% Parellada.
After a traditional vinification, Nadal Salvatge Gran Reserva Brut 2014 was aged for a minimum of 36 months.
Production around 15,000 bottles.

Despite the off-putting label, the wine is very pleasant. Palate is fresh and crunchy, gentle bubbles and crisp finish.
A more than presentable sparkling wine. Tart, fresh, tiny bubbles, long long finish.
