This organic red wine is made from a blend of Grenache, Carignan, Cabernet Sauvignon and Syrah. The grapes come from a 2-hectare estate with slate and clay soils whose vineyards are farmed following biodynamic procedures.
Harvested by hand, the grapes of this red wine from Priorat were destemmed and cold-soaked prior to fermentation.
After fermenting and macerating in stainless steel and concrete tanks, Nita 2017 was aged for a period of 8 months.
Gently clarified, this young red wine was then aged for 12 months in the cellar before its release.
Decanting is advisable, though not indispensable.
The red wine Nita has a clean, bright, medium-high cherry-coloured robe with a garnet rim.
Very much alive, this wine by Meritxell Pallejà neatly conveys fresh aromas of red berries and black fruit, alongside some enticing remembrances of fennel, aniseed, laurel and underbush. This Priorat red wine has a mineral background punctutated by notes of violets and dried roses.
Freshness is the word here. Nita from Priorat is exceedingly drinkable and inviting, with delicious notes of red berries, flowers, garrigue and minerality. Crisp and linear, with a great acidity and a long finish.

This is my cup of tea. A Priorat with no oak, fresh as a daisy. I wish more producers would follow this path.
