The first two varieties come from old vines, and the third comes from an estate located in Pla de Manlleu, in the highest area of DO Penedès. All are organically farmed.
After a meticulous harvest, the grapes were selected in the cellar. Only the free-run juice was used to produce each of the three wine musts.
Then this Brut Nature Gran Reserva was fermented in stainless steel tanks. A 10% of the wine, though, was fermented and aged for 4 months in French oak barrels.
Finally, the Cava Oriol Rossell Reserva de la Propietat 2013 was blended and aged for a minimum of 48 months in the bottle.
The Cava Oriol Rossell Reserva de la Propietat has a pale yellow colour with some golden tinges.
Ripe white fruit, tropical fruit and notes of citrus that evolve into aromas of pastry, lees, dry fruit and toast, with a note of spices coming from the oak ageing. On the background, this complex Gran Reserva Brut Nature suggests some mineral and bitter notions.
Surprisingly fresh, as well as creamy and suave, this Cava from Oriol Rossell has a smooth mousse and a silky texture. Notes of pastry, English custard and butter, nuanced by some bitter and smokey touches and hints of citrus, orange blossom and aromatic herbs. Excellent acidity and long, delicious finish.
|Our personal opinion||
Expressive, mature and complex, Oriol Rossell Reserva de la Propietat 2013 needs to be enjoyed at a leisurely pace.

Impressive. The smoothness, the texture, the tiny, sexy bubbles - not the oversized ones one finds in many Cavas. - Definitely will buy again.
