It is made principally from Tempranillo, complemented with a touch of Graciano. The Tempranillo grapes come from three plots that grow under an Atlantic climate in La Rioja Alta. As for the Graciano, they come from 20-year-old vines grown under a Mediterranean climate.
The grapes were first cold-macerated and fermented in stainless steel tanks.
Then Oscar Tobía Reserva 2014 underwent malolactic fermentation and was aged for 24 months in French and Hungarian oak barrels.
The wine was not filtered or stabilized prior to its bottling. Finally, it was aged for a further 15 months in the cellar before its release.
Production of 57,000 bottles. Decant 30 minutes before drinking.
Drink this reserve red wine from La Rioja from now until 2025.
The red wine Óscar Tobía Reserva has a deep, bright cherry-coloured robe with a garnet rim.
This Reserve red wine from La Rioja shows some prominent aromas of black fruit, coffee and tobacco, combined with remembrances of menthol, underbush and spices over a mineral background.
Very pleasant, fruity, and with a distinctive mineral character. The wood of this red wine from La Rioja Alta by Bodega Tobía is very well integrated, and the fruit combines excellently with suggestions of spices, balsam and undergrowth. Crisp acidity, crunchy tannins and long, smooth finish.
