The Pago de Carraovejas winery proudly presents the new vintage of its Crianza red wine, the excellent Pago de Carraovejas.
A blend of Tinta Fina (aka Tempranillo), Cabernet Sauvignon and Merlot, this Spanish red wine is made from young vines, planted between 1998 and 2011, near the town of Peñafiel, in the heart of the DO Ribera del Duero.
The 2017 vintage was a difficult one. After a meticulous selection, the grapes were fermented in stainless steel tanks and French oak vats, after that the wine was aged for 12 months in American and French oak barrels.
After that, Pago de Carraovejas Crianza 2017 was clarified with egg whites.
Bottled in Spring 2019, it was subsequently aged for a minimum of 8 months in the bottle before its commercial release.
We recommend that you decant this red wine from Ribera del Duero for a minimum of 30 minutes before you drink it.
The Spanish red wine Pago de Carraovejas Crianza has a medium-high, cherry-coloured robe with a violet rim.
Lush and opulent, this Crianza red wine displays juicy aromas of red berries and black fruit, along with some lactic touches, notes of spices and toast, and some brush-strokes of menthol and balsam. In the background, this wine from Bodega Pago de Carraovejas hides some oaky remembrances and a note of dry undergrowth.
Smooth and meaty, this Crianza from Pago de Carraovejas is nicely textured and sophisticated. Remembrances of mulberries and blackberries, a touch of balsam and spices, and some earthy and floral suggestions. Tannins are ripe and well integrated and finish is long and yummy, leaving endless remembrances of fruit, toast and Asian spices.
