This is the new vintage of Pago de Cirsus Vendimia Seleccionada, produced by the Pago de Cirsus winery.
Produced in Pago Finca Bolandín, a recently approved designation of origin within the region of Navarra, this Spanish red wine is crafted by a team directed by Jean Marc Sauboua, one of France's most prestigious winemakers and former technical director of the legendary Château Haut-Brion in Bordeaux.
Then they were cold-soaked in stainless steel tanks, and after that 70% of them remained in the tanks and the rest were transferred into French oak vats to complete alcoholic fermentation.
After that, Pago de Cirsus Vendimia Seleccionada 2016 was aged for 12 months in new French oak barrels.
Finally, this Crianza red wine was clarified with egg whites prior to its bottling.
Decant 30 minutes before drinking. Drink now until 2026.
The red wine Pago de Cirsus Vendimia Seleccionada has an intense, bright cherry colour with some reddish glints and a violet rim.
Juicy and fruit-driven, this red wine from Navarra offers some lively aromas of ripe red and black fruit, along with some herbal notes and remembrances of moka, cocoa, leather, pepper and toast. On the background, notes of balsam and dim mineral notions.
Fresh, gulpable and smoother that one might think. This red wine Pago de Cirsus has a very good balance between the fruit and the ageing notes, with an excellent acidity and well-integrated tannins. Long finish with some balsamic and mineral remembrances.
