Palacios Remondo La Vendimia is the large-format, 1.5 litre-bottle of the young red wine La Vendimia, crafted by the prestigious Spanish winemaker Álvaro Palacios.
The grapes come from young, 10 to 40-year-old vines grown in sandy-clay and ferrous-clay soils peppered with pebble stones.
Harvested by hand between mid September and mid October, the wine was vinified in stainless steel tanks.
After that, Palacios Remondo La Vendimia 2014 Mágnum was aged for 5 months in wooden vats and French oak barrels.
Drink now to 2021.
Vert bright, medium-high cherry-coloured robe with a violet rim.
Medium-high intensity, with notes of red fruit, wild berries, some toasted notes and spicy hints. As the wine opens, we perceive notions of fruit compote, rosy pepper, underbush and some mineral remembrances.
Meaty and savoury, though still young, as the magnum format considerably slows the evolution of the wine, thus expanding its ageing potential. Very good acidity, still unbridled tannins and refreshing notes of fruits and balsam. Long, pleasant finish.
