The exquisite Palacios Remondo Propiedad is made from the oldest vines of the winery.
A respected, venerable wine dinasty from La Rioja, Palacios Remondo owns more than 100 hectares of vineyards in the town of Alfaro. Soils have very low levels of organic matter and are composed of clay, limestone and pebble stones. The composition is quite similar to the famed "galets roulées" terroir from Châteauneuf-du-Pape.
Harvested at dusk, the grapes were meticulously selected and fully destemmed prior to being fermented. Alcoholic fermentation took place in wooden vats with periodic pump-overs and punch-downs. The process lasted 28 days.
Then Palacios Remondo Propiedad 2017 completed malolactic fermentation in oak barrels.
Finally, it was aged for 18 months in half new and half 2nd year French oak barrels. It was not fined or filtered before its bottling.
Decant this Crianza red wine 1 hour before drinking. 40.000 bottles produced.
The red wine Palacios Remondo Propiedad has a very bright cherry colour with a garnet hue at the rim.
Expressive and delightfully pure notes of ripe red berries, dried plums, flowers, lavender and underbush, typical of and old-vines Grenache from La Rioja, underpinned by aromas of spices, dim mineral remembrances and some balsamic remembrances.
Very distinguished, this red wine from the Palacios Remondo winery shows an exceptional balance between fruit and acidity. The wine has a smooth, wonderful texture and a totally individual character. Notes of strawberries and Amarena cherries, some touches of clove, fennel, aniseed and vanille, sophisticated mineral undertones and remembrances of lavender and dry earth. This Rioja Crianza has a very long, delicately mineral finish.
