This interesting Spanish red wine is a single varietal Grenache made from grapes coming from a single vineyard located at 610 metres above sea level.
Produced by Parés Baltà, the alcoholic fermentation of Indígena took place in stainless steel tanks for 4 weeks, with 2-3 daily pump-overs and punch-downs.
Then this organic red wine from Penedès completed malolactic fermentation and was aged for 5 months in French oak barrels.
The result is the fresh, straightforward Parés Baltà Indígena 2018.
Clean and bright, Parés Baltà Indígena has a garnet colour with a violet rim.
Fruit-driven, Indígena from Parés Baltà smells of wild strawberries, raspberries and cherries, nuanced by some notes of flowers, toast, liquorice and spices.
Intense and smooth, this wine from Parés Baltà is berryish and moreish, with some lactic remembrances, as well as some smokey and spicy hints. Good acidity, ripe tannins and pleasant finish.
