It belongs to the prestigious Ex Ex Collection (meaning Exceptional Experiences).
This time, the winery has gone a step beyond in its quest for producing more honest, unmasked and terroir-oriented wines.
Thus, the wine has been crafted following organic procedures, using indigenous yeasts and with no addition of sulfites after its bottling.
All of them come from vines over 40 years of age located in a single estate, Finca La Garriga.
The grapes were separately harvested and vinified according to the variety.
Once alcoholic fermentation was completed, Ex Ex 2013 was aged for 13 months in 2nd year Allier French oak barrels.
Finally, the wine was aged for a further 15 months in the bottle before its commercial release.
Production of 2,781 bottles.
Decant 1 hour before drinking.
Drink now until 2025.
Intense, medium cherry-coloured robe with a garnet rim.
Wild berries, some hints of flowers, lavender and aromatic herbs, combined with some touches of dry earth, some mineral undertones, suggestions of citrus and dry fruit and aromas of Eastern spices.
Complex and bold, showing an uncompromising and extremely interesting character. Very young and still in the making, the wine displays aromas of flowers, and spices, some remembrances of bitter chocolate, notes of black fruit and a complex combinaton of some earthy and mineral notions. First-class acidity, yummy tannins and very long finish with some toasted and fruity remembrances.
