The international prestige of the Tinto Pesquera winery began in 1982, when Robert Parker said that Pesquera was "Spain's Château Pétrus".
Crafted by the renowned winemaker Alejandro Fernández, this red wine from Ribera del Duero was produced from a careful selection of the best grapes coming from the 200 hectares of vineyards owned by the company.
Manually picked and carefully destemmed, first they were fermented into stainless steel tanks. Lightly pressed, Pesquera Reserva 2015 was subsequently aged in American oak barrels for 24 months.
Finally, this Reserve red wine spent a further 12 months in the bottle before its release.
Drink over the next 10 years. Decant 1 hour before drinking.
The red wine Pesquera Reserva has a bright, clean, cherry-red robe with a violet rim.
Complex, intriguing nose, though a bit reduced at the beginning. After some aeration, this Tempranillo from Ribera del Duero insinuates notes of black fruit -blackcurrants and blueberries-, some mineral undertones and a repertoire of tertiary aromas coming from the ageing process: spices, coffee, tobacco and cocoa.
Elegant, smooth entrance with an excellent balance between acidity and tannic structure. Pesquera Reserva is round and fruit-driven, quite succulent and rewardingly fresh. This Ribera del Duero red wine has a lingering, exotic aftertaste of blackcurrants, vanilla, clove and coffee beans.
|Our personal opinion||
Despite its youth, this Pesquera Reserva 2015 already performs excellently. Be sure to pair it with hearty dishes.

Reaching the top, but not yet there... Give it some years.
Classy, deep red wine. It made me fall in love with Ribera del Duero when I first drank it.
