Produced by Celler Masroig, Pinyeres is yet another astounding value from the DO Montsant.

Terroir-bound and truly indigenous, this Spanish red wine is made from a blend of Grenache and Samsó (Carignan).

Carefully harvested and selected, the grapes were fermented in stainless steel tanks. After that, this red wine from Montsant underwent malolactic fermentation in oak barrels, where it was aged for 12 months.

Prior to its release, Pinyeres 2015 was aged for a further months in the bottle.

Drink through 2022.

Additional Information

The red wine Pinyeres has a very intense, bright, clean medium-high cherry-coloured robe with a purplish rim.

Very expressive, this Crianza red wine carries some pristine notes of red berries and Mediterranean garrigue. Vibrant and gently smokey, this wine by Celler Masroig effortlessly marries the fruit with a note of balsam, liquorice, and spice.

Intense and well-balanced, this old-vines Grenache and Carignan is crisp and linear, though not lacking in flesh. Excellent acidity and ripe tannins. Wild berries, menthol, toast and underbrush make for an extremely pleasant combination. Medium-long, pleasantly mineral finish.

I drink this quite often. It is excellent for everyday consumption. The fruit is excellent and the winemakers seem to know their craft.
