One of modern Rioja's best -known wines, Predicador is crafted by Benjamín Romeo, one of the great names of the Spanish winemaking scene.
The 2016 vintage of this Spanish red wine is made from 91% Tempranillo, complemented with tiny amounts of Grenache, Graciano and Mazuelo. The vines, between 20 and 35 years of age, are scattered over 16 plots located in the towns of Briones and San Vicente de la Sonsierra.
Produced by Bodega Contador, the grapes were manually collected and selected twice.
After a careful vinification in truncated cone-shaped vats, the ageing of this Crianza red wine was carried out in new and 2nd year French oak barrels. It lasted 17 months.
Finally, Predicador 2016, the wine with the top hat label,was clarified and filtered prior to its bottling.
Decant 30 minutes before drinking.
Drink now to 2025.
The wine Predicador has a clean, bright, medium-high cherry-coloured robe with a garnet rim.
This red wine by Bodega Contador is complex and multi-layered. Suggestions of blackberries and plums, along with red fruit, spices, a salty hint and some touches of tobacco, coffee and aromatic herbs. On the background, this Crianza from Rioja exhibits some mineral undertones.
A great example of the Modern Rioja, this red wine by Benjamín Romeo is bold and meaty, with lively flavours of yummy red fruit, a well-integrated touch of oak, remarkable acidity and lively tannins that will soon be fully integrated with the wine. Very smooth, this Tempranillo wine has a long, fruity finish and an overall pleasant sensation.

Combination of garnacha and tempranillo works really well. We are in the presence of a new Rioja classic.
Quite a powerful wine and very concentrated with a deep and intense cherry red colour.
It is a very intense wine with a perfect combination between fruit and wood.
For me it is a very good wine.
