Salomé is a Spanish red wine from Montsant produced by Josep Grau viticultor.
The name is the winemaker's homage to a 90-year-old lady who had the dream of having a wine made from grapes coming from her plot.
The vineyards grow in the typical slate soils present both in Montsant and in the neighbouring Priorat.
Traditionally vinified, the wine was aged for 7 months in 2nd and 3rd year French oak barrels.
Salomé 2016 will improve in the bottle for the next 6 years.
Decant 30 minutes before drinking.
Salomé has a bright, high cherry-coloured robe with a violet rim.
This Crianza red wine by Josep Grau Viticultor is deep and intense. Aromas of ripe black fruit, laurel, pepper and spices, intertwined with aromas of balsam, coffee, toffee, undergrowth and aromatic herbs over a mineral background.
Complex and bold, this blend of Grenache, Syrah and Cabernet Sauvignon from Montsant has a round, pleasant body and a remarkable depth. The balsamic and mineral notions prevail, nicely underpinned by remembrances of red and black fruit. Ripe tannins, well-balanced acidity and long, balsamic finish.
