This is the entry-level Spanish red wine of the Sierra Cantabria winery, owned by the Eguren family.
Soils are composed of clay and limestone. Climate is Atlantic with a Continental influence.
Harvested by hand, the grapes were destemmed, fermented and macerated with the skins.
Then this Rioja red wine was aged for 6 months in stainless steel tanks and for another 6 months in 50% French and 50% American oak barrels.
Drink Sierra Cantabria Selección 2017 until 2021.
The red wine Sierra Cantabria Selección has a cherry colour with a purple rim.
This young Tempranillo from La Rioja is fresh, with straightforward aromas of wild berries, some subtle lactic touches and remembrances of graphite, black pepper and withered, damp leaves.
This expressive young red wine by Sierra Cantabria is smooth and meaty, with lively tannins and a crisp acidity. Notes of liquor-infused fruit, kirsch, toast and spices. Medium-long finish.
