The 2016 vintage was a very good one. First, the Tempranillo grapes were manually harvested in little boxes to avoid fruit bruising.
Once in the cellar, the grapes were cold-soaked for 2 to 3 days and then spontaneously fermented.
Then the wine was racked prior to malolactic fermentation.
Finally, Tinto Figuero 4 Meses Mágnum (1.5 litre bottle) was aged for 4 months in 50% new and 50% 2nd year American oak (75%) and French oak barrels (25%).
Drink until 2023.
Tinto Figuero 4 Meses has a bright, clean, medium-high cherry-coloured robe with a crimson rim.
This varietal Tempranillo from Ribera del Duero is fresh and fruity. Loads of red fruit, blackberries, blueberries and mulberries. Great balance between fruit and oak. On the background, subtle mineral notions and some balsamic remembrances.
Fresh and focused. This red wine by Bodegas y Viñedos García Figuero has some mild tannins, good acidity and notions of red fruit, menthol and underbush. Long, pleasant finish.
|Our personal opinion||
Tinto Figuero 4 Meses 2016 Mágnum is the perfect wine for informal meals. It will improve in the bottle for several years.
