Tocat i Posat is a remarkable Catalan red wine produced in the harsh, windswept region of L'Empordà.
Soils have different compositions, but slate soils are predominant. This brings a particular minerality to the wine.
The grapes were meticulously harvested during October and selected both in the vineyard and in the cellar.
Alcoholic fermentation and maceration took place in stainless steel tanks.
Then Tocat i Posat 2013 completed malolactic fermentation and was aged in French oak barrels from Allier for 12 months.
Finally, this wine produced jointly by the Coca i Fitó and the Roig Parals wineries was fined with egg whites and bottled.
Prior to its release, it was aged for a further 6 months in the cellar.
Decant 1 hour before drinking.
Drink now until 2022+.
Medium-high, bright cherry-coloured robe with a garnet rim.
Expansive notions of red fruit, wild berries, cocoa, spices and blue flowers over a deep, resounding mineral background nuanced by some balsamic notions.
Bold and complex, so much so that it will greatly benefit from some time in your home cellar. Intense notes of red and black fruit, a panoply of exotic spices, enticing mineral undertones and a display of Mediterranean underbush. Crisp acidity and crunchy tannins. Long finish with some bitter and liquorice touches.

Tocat i Posat 2013 is ambitious, but not pretentious. True to its origin, it is a wine that pairs wonderfully with hearty meat dishes.
