This is one of the absolute best wines in Rioja.
Torre Muga is a reserve Spanish red wine that embodies the best qualities of Spain's most important wine region.
After a meticulous harvest, they were destemmed and macerated for 3 weeks in oak vats with indigenous yeasts and no temperature control.
After that, Torre Muga 2014 was aged for 18 months in new French oak barrels and for a further 6 months in oak vats.
Finally, the wine was clarified with egg whites and aged for some months in the bottle before its release.
Decant this Rioja red wine a minimum of 1 hour before drinking.
Slowly reaching its peak, the wine will improve in the bottle for a minimum of 10-12 years.
Torre Muga has a bright, high cherry-coloured robe with a reddish rim.
This reserve red wine by Bodegas Muga is regal and aristocratic. Blackberry preserve, cocoa, vanilla and liquorice, combined with aromas of wild herbs, toast, Havanna cigars, cedar, clove, cinnamon and leather. Complex and everchanging.
Wow! This blend of Tempranillo, Mazuelo and Graciano from Rioja has a fabulous finesse, a silky body and a judiciously bridled power. Pure notes of red and black fruit, nicely balanced with remembrances of herbs, flowers, dry earth and spices. Crisp, tense acidity, smooth tannins and extremely long finish with some herbal and toasted remembrances.
