The production of Trasnocho begins with a selection of the best grapes. The proportion is 90% Tempranillo, 5% Graciano, and 5% Malvasía & Viura, coming from the very best plots of the prestigious Remírez de Ganuza winery.
Selected both in the vineyard and in the cellar, all of the grapes come from over 60-year-old vines.
This high-end Spanish red wine from La Rioja was cold macerated for 24 hours in specially designed tanks prior to alcoholic fermentation.
Then the grapes were destemmed and fermented in stainless steel tanks and French oak vats.
After that, this reserve red wine from La Rioja was transferred into 95% new French oak and 5% American oak barrels to complete a 21 month ageing process.
The exclusive Trasnocho 2011 will improve in the bottle for a minimum of 7 years. Decant 1 hour before drinking.
12,000 bottles produced.
The red wine Trasnocho has an intense, dark, high cherry-coloured robe with a ruby rim.
Extremely rich display of aromas. This reserve red wine from La Rioja smells of cassis, blackcurrants and blackberries, combined with a panoply of Eastern spices, notes of underbush, dry earth and mineral, a touch of blue flowers, remembrances of red berries and a dash of balsam, resin and tobacco leaves.
Expressive and creamy, with wonderfully balanced notions of fruit and spices, intertwined with notions of terroir, withered leaves, sweet spices, pipe tobacco, undergrowth and flowers. This red wine by Remírez de Ganuza has some silky tannins, rock-solid acidity and a very long, enticing finish.
