Details

Produced by Mesquira Mora, one Mallorca's most environmentally conscious wineries, Trispol is made from a blend of Cabernet Franc and Syrah, coming from 35-year-old vines, and the indigenous variety Callet, coming from 50-year-old vines.

Crafted from certified organic vineyards farmed following biodynamic principles, this Spanish red wine is produced in Porreres, an enchanting Majorcan town belonging to the DO Pla i Llevant.

Manually harvested and separately vinified, the grapes were first cold-soaked and fermented in stainless steel tanks. After that, this crianza red wine was aged for 12 months. The Callet and the Syrah varieties were aged in wooden vats, while the Cab. Franc was aged in 225-litre French oak barrels.

Bottled in July 2018, Trispol 2017 was aged for a further 12 months before its commercial release.

Decant 30 minutes before drinking.

9,500 bottles produced.

Additional Information

Appearance

The red wine Trispol has a medium-high cherry-coloured robe with some violet tinges.

Nose

Complex and inviting, this organic red wine from Mallorca suggests some pristine aromas of ripe black fruit and flowers, alongside hints of flowers, eucalyptus and underbrush over a toasted and smokey background.

Palate

Nicely crafted by the Mesquida Mora winery, this Crianza red wine is well-balanced and graceful. Harmonious combination of ripe fruit and spices, some remembrances of aromatic herbs, and some balsamic, floral and earthy notions. Good acidity, mild tannins and a long, savoury finish.

Our personal opinion

The best vintage so far, Trispol 2017 proves that the wines produced in the beautiful island of Majorca have definitely come of age.

A peculiarly elegant wine, very well crafted. Nice aromas and clean flavours.

I live in Majorca. Majorcan wines are slowly getting there. This is one of the best.
