The vines are located in the heart of Ribera del Duero, at an altitude of 830 metres above sea level.
The soils are mainly clayey-limestone, punctuated by areas of sand. Climate is continental.
Harvested by hand, the grapes were fermented and macerated at a controlled temperature for 18 days.
Then the wine was aged for over a period of 30 months in French, American and Central European oak barrels.
After that,Valduero Reserva 2011 was aged for a further 18 months in the bottle prior to its release.

Valduero Reserva 2011 has a high, cherry-coloured robe with a purple rim.
This Tinta Fina red wine from Ribera del Duero shows some seductive aromas of fine wood, toast, coffee, cocoa and leather. On the background, notes of raisins, withered leaves, dry earth and blackcurrants. A complex, ever-evolving nose.
After a bold, imperative entrance onto the palate this reserve red wine by Bodegas Valduero immediately softens and behaves in the most gracious way. Smooth-bodied, with a solid structure, some crunchy tannins and a very good acidity. Terroir-oriented and complex, the wine shows remembrances of dry earth, blackcurrants, lavender, black truffles, tree bark, coffee, cocoa powder and spices. Long, slightly bitter finish.
