Details

Produced by the Martí Fabra winery, Verd Albera is a young Spanish white wine made from a blend of White Grenache, Muscat and Chardonnay.

The vines grow in the rugged, remote mountains of the Serra d'Albera in the DO Empordà, in NE Catalonia, right on the southern side of the French border.

Fermentation of this white wine from L'Empordà took place in concrete vats. Then the wine was transferred into stainless steel tanks, and kept in contact with its lees for 6 months.

Drink Verd Albera 2018 through 2020.

Additional Information

Appearance

Clean and bright, Verd Albera has an amber colour with a green tinge.

Nose

White fruit, citrus notes and sweet nuances -sort of a lemon candy- over a background of fresh herbs and floral notes. An expressive young white wine from L'Empordà.

Palate

Fresh and energetic, this white wine from the Martí Fabra winery is reminiscent of pears, peaches and apricots. We also find some delicious citrusy notes. Good acidity and balance. Medium finish.

Our personal opinion

Subtle, pleasant and easy to drink, Verd Albera 2018 is a white wine fit for any occasion.

I recommend this wine. This winery keeps a low profile, but produces excellent products. This has good fruit and it is also earthy, softly grassy, and very enjoyable.
