Here are some great news: Viña Ardanza Magnum comes back in full splendour.
A blend of 80% Tempranillo and 20% Grenache, this Spanish red wine is made from over 30-year-old vines located at 600 metres above sea level.
Harvested in 15-kg. boxes, the grapes were selected and fermented in the cellar.
After that, the Tempranillo wine was aged for 36 months in 4th year American oak barrels.
As for the Grenache, it was aged for 30 months in 2nd and 3rd year American oak barrels.
Both of the wines were racked six times.
Finally, this red wine from La Rioja produced by La Rioja Alta was bottled and aged for a further years in the cellar prior to its release.
Drink Viña Ardanza Reserva Magnum 2009 over the next 10 years.
The wine Viña Ardanza Reserva Magnum has a clean, bright cherry colour with a brick red rim.
This blend of Tempranillo and Grenache exhibits some mature, dreamy, elegant aromas of balsam, Havanna cigars, cocoa, cedar, leather, black fruit and Eastern spices. A wonderfully evocative, typical Rioja nose.
Superbly refined and well-balanced, this red wine by La Rioja Alta has a lively character and a delicious passage through the palate. Red berries, black pepper, toast, Moroccan leather, spices, menthol and black truffles. Viña Ardanza Magnum has some smooth tannins and a long, complex finish.
