This is the third vintage of Viña Meín, a Spanish white wine produced by Bodegas Viña Mein, since the Comando G team, known from their world-class wines from the Gredos mountain range, took charge of all the winemaking operations.
Made from 70% Treixadura, complemented with tiny amounts of Godello, Loureira, Albariño, Torrontés, Lado and Albillo.
All of them are grown in gentle slopes with soils composed of rocks and gravel in the Galician towns of San Clodio and Gomariz, belonging to the Ribeiro DO.
The grapes of this white wine from Galicia were carefully selected, destemmed and cold-macerated before undergoing alcoholic fermentation.
After that, Viña Meín 2017 was aged for 2 months on its lees.
Drink until 2021.
Appearance | The wine Viña Meín has a clean, bright yellow colour with some greenish tinges.

Nose | This white wine from Ribeiro smells of ripe white fruit, bone fruit, delicate nuances of aniseed and fennel, dim mineral undertones and some hints of citrus and white flowers. A rich aromatic profile, stemming from a judicious blend of native Galician varieties.
|
Palate | This blend of Treixadura and other varieties produced in Ribeiro by Viña Meín is fresh and gently unctuous, with a remarkable complexity and a great balance between a fresh acidity and an elegant bitterness. Citrus, aromatic herbs, remembrances of tropical fruit and some vegetal nuances. Long, yummy finish.

Our personal opinion | Salty, fresh and Atlantic, Viña Meín 2017 pairs excellently with seafood, Japanese food and, if you feel adventurous, soft cheeses.
