The Elías Mora winery is based in the DO Toro, a region that possesses a real treasure trove of ungrafted, prephylloxeric vineyards. Precisely, Viñas Elías Mora is made from some of those ancient vines.
A single varietal Tinta de Toro, the grapes were harvested by hand, destemmed, and cold-soaked. Then this red wine from Toro was fermented in stainless steel tanks.
After that, this Spanish red wine was drawn off and transferred into American oak barrels, where it was aged for 6 months.
Finally, Viñas Elías Mora 2017 from Toro was filtered and clarified with egg whites prior to its bottling.
Appearance | The Spanish red wine from Toro Viñas Elías Mora has a very bright, clean cherry-coloured robe with a purple rim. |

Nose | This expressive single varietal Tinta de Toro encapsulates the bold nature of that grape variety. Fresh, intense notes of wild berries, blackberries, violets, liquorice and roasted coffee, combined with hints of spices, cinnamon and undergrowth. |
Palate | Bold and well-structured, this red wine from Bodega Elías Mora has a meaty body nicely balanced by an excellent acidity and some crunchy tannins. Black fruit, raspberries, liquorice, blue flowers, spices and aromatic herbs. Long, balsamic finish. |

My kind of Toro!! Dark, intense, spicy, ripe tannins and a very curious remembrance of violets that I found in many Toro reds.
