Volver 2015, by Jorge Ordóñez, is a varietal Spanish red wine made from grapes coming from old, low-yielding Tempranillo vineyards.

The grapevines were planted in 1957 in sandy, red-clayed, poor soils in the central Spanish region of La Mancha, the land of Don Quijote.

The 2015 vintage was difficult. Temperatures were consistenly high along the summer, and harvest was below average. However, the grapes reached and excellent ripening state.

Produced by Bodegas Volver, the grapes were manually harvested and selected at the vineyard.

After a traditional vinification process, malolactic fermentation and ageing was carried out in new French oak barrels. The process took 15 months to complete.

The wine was not filtered prior to its bottling.

Decant Volver 30 minutes before drinking.

Drink this red wine from La Mancha now to 2023.

Additional Information

Volver has a medium-high, dark cherry-coloured robe with a violet rim.

Made from old vines, this Tempranillo red wine from La Mancha has a deep, terroir-oriented character. Pristine aromas of red fruit compote, fresh black fruit and rich hints of spices. Creamy and smoky remembrances and a deep balsamic note. Notions of aromatic herbs and wet earth.

Crafted with care and precision, this Crianza red wine by Bodegas Volver - Jorge Ordóñez enters the mouth gracefully and fills it with notes of balsam, underbrush and fruit. Well-structured, with lively tannins and a good, persistent finish. Interesting ageing potential.

Quite good. Earthy and spicy. One sort of feels the soil. Good producer.
