The low-yielding, over 50-year-old vines are planted in a single estate with limestone soils, Finca l'Avellà, located in the highest area of the DO Penedès.
After a meticulous harvest, the grapes were cold-macerated and fermented at a low temperature.
Then HMR White 2018 was aged for some months on its lees.
This white wine from Penedès has a production of 20,000 bottles.
The wine HMR White has a pale yellow colour with some steely tinges.
Clean and elegant, this Xarel·lo suggests aromas of wet earth, bitter herbs, white fruit and a dash of citrus. On the background, White insinuates a touch of fennel and some mineral undertones.
Fresh and crisp, this wine by Heretat Mont Rubí has a linear, solid structure and a nice mineral core nuanced by citrus and bitter herbs. This white wine from Penedès ends with some plesant notes of butter and white flowers.

Once again, White 2018 proves that Xarel·lo is not a showy variety, but an unassuming, though rather deep one.

Crisp xarello. Good wine, citrusy.
I'm always looking for wines to pair with Jap cuisine, and this proved to be excellent. Mineral, herbal, with tips of white flowers and fennel. Very fresh and excellent also without food.
