Adega Pedralonga

Adega Pedralonga

Adega Pedralonga produces some of the purest expressions of the Galician terroir available on the market.

The vineyards of Adega Pedralonga are located in the town of Caldas de Reis, in the region of Val do Río Umia, province of Pontevedra. Founded in 1997, the company belongs to the Alfonso family, winemakers and winegrowers since many generations.

The winery Adega Pedralonga grows principally Albariño vineyards, all of which are over 30 years of age. The winery also owns several hectares of Mencía, Caíño and Espadeiro. Gobelet trained and oriented north- south, the grapevines are planted on the foothills of Monte Xiabre, growing in granitic and sandy soils under an Atlantic climate. They are taken care of following traditional methods, with a particular attentionto the lunar calendar. Committed to the principles of biodynamic agriculture, Adega Pedralonga winery from Galicia does not use chemicals, pesticides or synthetic fertilizers in order to maximize the expression of terroir and preserving the land for future generations.

Featuring in many wine lists of high-end restaurants in Japan, the US or Sweden, this Galician winery produces three single varietal Albariños: the well-known Albariño Pedralonga and the scarce Albariño Barrica and Albariño Vendetta. The only red wine produced by the winery is the crunchy and salty Do Umia, a Mencía-based blend with an irresistble Atlantic character and, alas, a very limited production.

A family-run winery in Galicia that produces very personal wines.
