The Bodegas Luis Alegre family winery crafts intense and expressive wines following the pure tradition of the Rioja while integrating the newest winemaking technologies in the world of oenology.

The Bodega Luis Alegre winery was founded by Luis Alegre´s family in 1968 in the heart of the Rioja. This winery crafts grand wines from very rigorously selected grapes and they have pioneered working with wood to craft their wines. This winery has 50 hectares of their own grapevines, some of which are over 100 years-old and their Finca Portiles vineyard utilize grapevines that were planted in 1920.

Luis Alegre´s vineyards are very unique because of their incredibly high quality soils and old grapevines. The Bodegas Luis Alegre winey only uses the highest quality of grapes to craft their wines and the majority of the wines produced by this winery are crafted from Spanish Tempranillo grapes. In addition to Tempranillo, this winery also cultivates their own Viura, Malvasía, Grencah, and Mazuelo grapes. These grapes are always harvested by hand and personally selected by the winery. All of the wines by the Bodegas Luis Alegre winery are crafted from artesian methods that have incorporated modern winemaking technologies. Luis Alegre wines are very elegant Spanish wines from the Rioja.
