The Canals Canals winery was founded in 1978 by Miquel Canals Ollé and this winery is still being managed by the Canals family to this day. This winery is situated in Castellví de Rosanes, which is inside of the Penedès Denomination of Origin in Spain. This winery´s facilities date back to 1903. Despite this ancient building, today this winery has modern vinification equipment which they use to craft their cavas and wines with the goal of pleasing the most demanding wine connoisseurs and achieving their very high standards of quality.
The Canals Canals winery crafts their wines and cavas from their own grapes that are cultivated from grapevines that are over 40 years-old. The sparkling wines by the Canals Canals winery are crafted from the three traditional grape varietals of this region Xarel-lo, Macabeo, and Parellada grapes for their white wines and cava, and Monastrell and Grenache for their red wines. This winery has also incorporated the foreign grape varietal Sauvignon Blanc into some of their wines.
Ramon Canals, is the third generation of this family to operate this family winery following this family’s tradition of winemaking. This family also produces wine and cava at the Cava Duran winery.
