The Can Feixes winery is situated in the northernmost region of Penedès, Spain, between Mediona and Cabrera d´Anoia. This family winery has its vineyards situated at 1,300 feet (400 meters) above sea level and these grapevines are cultivated with the utmost respect to their environment. These vineyards are cultivated following the leisurely pace of the cycling seasons to obtain the highest quality of grapes. As this winery´s grapes have improved in quality over the years, so has this winery´s success.
All things considered, the Huguet de Can Feixes winery of Penedès presents the pure spirit and tradition of a French château. Furthermore, their micro-terroir is exposed to great temperature variations which provides for slow grape ripening periods. These vineyards are cultivated in calcareous soils that are full of stones and useful clays. The grapevines at these vineyards have low yields of very high quality grapes that are well-concentrated compounds in their skins. Due to this unique micro-climate, the altitude, and the soils, this winery has been able to successful cultivate foreign grape varietals in Penedès.
The wines and sparkling wines (cavas) by the Huguet de Can Feixes winery are all crafted from the single variety or blend of Macabeo, Malvasía de Sitges, Chardonnay, Tempranillo (Ull de Llebre), Cabernet Sauvignon, Merlot, Pinot Noir, and Petit Verdot. The Negre Jove Selecció and Blanc Selecció by Huguet de Can Feixes are two wines that both carry the organic label of the CCPAE (Consell Català de la Producció Agrària Ecològica).
