This interesting Spanish red wine bears the name of a rural trail that traverses the Priorat region.
Produced by Casa Gran del Siurana, the wine GR-174 is made from grapes coming from two estates located in Bellmunt del Priorat. The first one, La Casa Gran, is near the banks of the Siurana river, and it is mainly composed of red slate soils. The second one, La Fredat, is composed of black slate soils.
Harvested by hand, the grapes were destemmed, macerated and separately fermented. After that, the wine was drawn off and went through malolactic fermentation in French oak barrels. Finally, the red wine GR-174 2024 was aged for 5 months in the barrels.
