César Príncipe

César Príncipe

A family-run winery from DO Cigales.

Located in DO Cigales, Bodega César Príncipe was founded in the 1990s by a family with a long winemaking tradition. Although during its first years the winery specialized in Clarete de Cigales, the rosé wine the region has long been associated with, in 2000 the company started to make white wines and red wines, like César Príncipe. The product expansion proved to be effective, because it allowed the company to significantly grow its customer base.

The winemaking facilities of bodega César Príncipe are in Fuensaldaña, Valladolid. The vineyards, which totalize 40 hectares, are located in the neighbouring areas and in the villages of Corcos and Trigueros. The youngest vines, 25 to 30 years old, are from the white varieties Verdejo and Sauvignon. The oldest, 60 to 100 years old, are from Tempranillo, Muscat and Albillo. There are four main types of soil: red clay, sand, pebble stones and limestone.

The wines from bodega César Príncipe are traditionally vinified in stainless steel tanks and aged in American and French oak barrels. The winery produces red wines, white wines and claretes (rosés). Tipicity and freshness are their main features.
