Mauro

Bodegas Mauro was created with the aim of producing superior wines in Castilla y León.

Founded by Mariano García in 1980 in Tudela de Duero, Valladolid, the name of the company is an homage to Mr. García's father. Belonging to the DO Castilla y León, the Mauro winery owns 55 hectares of vineyards, mainly planted with Tempranillo, Cabernet Sauvignon and Syrah. Most of the grapevines, planted in clayey-limestone soils, are over 25 years of age.

The winemaking facilities were built in 2004 above a series of underground vaults constructed in 1980. The space is perfect for ageing the wines, a process for which the winery only uses French and American oak barrels.
