Produced by the Altavins winery, Almodí comes from DO Terra Alta, Catalonia's southernmost wine region.
This interesting Spanish red wine is crafted solely from Hairy Grenache (also known as Garnatxa Peluda or, even better, Garnatxa Borruda), a little-known mutation of Grenache indigenous to Catalonia which produces wines that usually are slightly less expressive, though more subtle and elegant, than the wines made from the traditional red Grenache.
Harvested by hand and carefully selected, the grapes were destemmed, macerated and fermented in stainless steel tanks. Then Almodí 2022 was aged for a brief period of 4 months in French oak barrels.
This is a very original red wine from Terra Alta.

| Palate | This young vegan red wine of Bodega Altavins is fresh and meaty, though not explosively fruity. It has a somewhat dark, deep character that we find extremely attractive. Acidity is crisp and tannins are delicious. Long finish with remembrances of dry earth and red berries. |
| Our personal opinion | A wine of great drinkability, Almodí 2022 brings a good opportunity to get to know an esoteric native grape at a superb price. |
