A prime exponent of La Rioja's new "terroirist" path, Bodegas y Viñedos Artuke is the producer of the wine Artuke Paso Las Mañas.
One of the bottlings of the Vinos de Parcela collection, this single parcel Spanish red wine is made from organically grown Tempranillo vines planted between 1990 and 2003 in a small plot called Paraje El Chorro. Interestingly, the vines are a massal selection of old Tempranillo clones from Finca de los Locos, one the best vineyards of the winery.
Harvested by hand and selected on site, the grapes were traditionally vinified, completing both alcoholic and malolactic fermentation spontaneously.
Then this organic red wine was transferred into 3,500-litre French oak vats. The red wine Artuke Paso Las Mañas 2022 was aged for 12 months in the vats; it was bottled in December 2023.
We suggest that you aerate this Crianza red wine some time before you drink it.

| Nose | This is a fragrant, vibrant varietal Tempranillo. Blueberry, damson and lavender, nuanced by dim notes of spices, a smokey note and some earthy and mineral undertones. |
| Palate | Medium-bodied, cheerful and very savoury, with a smooth passage and a distinctive personality. Free-breathing and feral, with a crisp acidity and delicate tannins. Nicely balanced, this red wine of Bodegas Artuke has a long, fruit-driven finish, with some mineral and toasted notes. |
