Made by Bodegas y Viñedos Artuke, the wine Artuke Pies Negros is part of the "Vinos de Pueblo" (village wines) collection.
A blend of 85% Tempranillo and 15% Graciano, this Spanish red wine from La Rioja is made from vineyards 30 to 90 years old located in the town of Ábalos, on the southern foothills of Sierra Cantabria.
The winery practices an environmentally friendly viticulture and follows the principles of biodynamic farming in order to get a natural expression of the terroir.
Handpicked and meticulously selected, the grapes of this red wine from Rioja were macerated for 3-4 days in stainless steel tanks After the completion of alcoholic fermentation, and prior to finishing the malolactic, 15% of this Crianza red wine was transferred into new French oak barrels.
Finally, the wine Artuke Pies Negros 2023 was aged for 12 months in concrete diposits (10%) and used French oak barrels.
Incidentally, the name of this wine ("Pies Negros" means "Black Feet") refers to the fact that the grapes used to produce it were stomped with bare feet.

| Nose | Livelier than your usual Rioja, this blend of Tempranillo and Graciano smells of brambles and blackcurrants, with notes of liquorice, Jamaica pepper, vanilla and toast. Somehow reminiscent of a Beaujolais, but with a darker and deeper core. |
| Palate | Smooth on the palate, this wine from Bodegas y viñedos Artuke is full of black fruit, with spices and some balsamic notes. Crisp, tasty tannins, some hints of sweetness and a good acidity give way to a long finish with chocolate and tobacco remembrances. |
