Red Wine Baltos Mencía 2019

Grown in soils with a high ferrous content, the grapes were harvested by hand, destemmed and crushed. Then this Spanish red wine was fermented in stainless steel tanks. During the process, gentle pump-overs were performed in order to enhance skin contact, thus allowing for a mild extraction of aromas and tannins.
After that, Baltos Mencía 2019 completed malolactic fermentation and was aged for 4-6 months in French oak barrels. The wine was clarified, but not filtered prior to its bottling. Finally, it was aged for 12 months before its commercial release.
We suggest that you drink this red wine from El Bierzo at a temperature around 14ºC.
The red wine Baltos Mencía is pale purple with a violet rim.
Nice aromas of ripe red berries, alongside blue flowers and some lactic remembrances. This varietal Mencía also exhibits some creamy nuances and some herbal and spicy touches.
Fresh and smooth, this red wine from Dominio de Tares has a crisp acidity, slim tannins and a long finish with a note of blood orange and some mineral remembrances, typical from El Bierzo.

Savoury and fresh, Baltos Mencía 2019 is an excellent value from El Bierzo.
