The bearer of a family tradition that harks back to the XIIth century, the Martí Fabra winery, the producer of the wine Martí Fabra Selecció Vinyes Velles, embodies the very essence of the Empordà region.
This Spanish red wine is made from a blend of 65% Grenache and 20% Carignan, sourced from vines 50 to 80 years of age, complemented with 15% Cabernet Sauvignon.
Surrounded by olive trees and Mediterranean garrigue, the vines grow in slate soils and are constantly swept a harsh northern wind called Tramuntana.
Meticulously harvested and separately vinified, the red wine Martí Fabra Selecció Vinyes Velles 2023 was aged for 12 months in French oak barrels.
