Produced following traditional methods, the whisky Old Pulteney 12 Single Malt is the best-known product of the venerable Pulteney distillery. Named after sir William Pulteney, the distillery was founded in 1826 in the town of Wick, the most north-easterly town on the UK and once Europe's largest herring port.
Made with carefully sourced barley malt, after the distillation this Scotch whisky was matured for 12 years in air-dried, hand-selected ex-Bourbon casks.
Amber-coloured with a rosy glint, this single malt whisky is fresh and saline on the nose, with hints of dry fruit, raisins, sea breeze, malted cereal and citrus. Suave and round on the palate, with flavours of ripe banana and notes of spices, fine wood, tobacco and spices.
The winner of numerous international awards, Old Pulteney 12 Single Malt was awarded a Gold Medal at the San Francisco World Spirits Competition, a Silver Medal at the International Spirits Challenge and a 91-point score at the Ultimate Spirits Challenge.
