Alonso & Pedrajo

Two families united by wine.
Bodega Alonso & Pedrajo Viticultores was founded at the beginning of the 2010s, when two families joined forces to start a wine project in the village of Villalba de Rioja. The project kicked off with the purchase of Finca La Cala, a 3.5-hectare vineyard located on the eastern foothills of Montes Obarenses, an area of DOCa Rioja with an abundance of clay-limestone soils and a climate combining both Continental and Atlantic features.
Nowadays, roughly half of the Rioja wines produced by bodega Alonso & Pedrajo Viticultores are made from estate-grown grapes, and the rest of the grapes are sourced from trustworthy local winegrowers. Vineyard management follows a minimal intervention approach and an overall environmentally sustainable methodology. The main varieties are Tempranillo, Malvasía, Viura, Maturana Blanca and Sauvignon Blanc. Meticulously vinified, the wines of Alonso & Pedrajo are aged in wood, clay and concrete containers.
A growing and evolving project, the wine portfolio of the Alonso & Pedrajo Viticultores winery includes three collections: La Pequeñita, comprised of wines sourced from tiny parcels, Suañé, a range of wines with a distinctively elegant profile, and Valdinero, an homage to the unique terroir of Montes Obarenses.
