Áster Crianza 2022
This is the new vintage - a very good one - of the wine Áster Crianza, a varietal Tinta del País (Tempranillo) made from estate vineyards located in Anguix (Burgos), at an altitude around 800 metres.
Produced by Bodega Áster, the grapes were meticulously harvested and selected. Once in the cellar, they were destemmed, gently crushed and fermented in stainless steel tanks under controlled temperature.
Then this Spanish red wine from Ribera del Duero went through malolactic fermentation in oak barrels, with weekly stirrings of the lees
After that, the red wine Áster Crianza 2022 was blended and aged for 16 months into 75% new and 25% 2nd year French oak barrels. It was bottled in July 2024.

| Nose | Intense and elegant aromas of black cherries, undergrowth and plum liqueur, typical of a varietal Tinta del País red wine, punctuated by notions of green tobacco leaves, vanilla, balsam, cedar and clove. |
| Palate | Surprisingly elegant and well defined, this wine of Bodega Áster has a crisp acidity, bold tannins and a great overall balance. Medium finish with remembrances of graphite, balsam and withered leaves. |
| Our personal opinion | Because of its gentleness and finesse, the wine Áster Crianza 2022 is a Ribera that clearly winks at Rioja. An excellent value. |
