Details
One of the best Bordeaux blends produced in Spain, the wine Gran Caus Negre is made from 80% Cabernet Franc and 20% Merlot, sourced from vines over 30 years of age.
This organic red wine is produced by the Can Ràfols dels Caus winery from estate vineyards located in the Garraf mountain range, a distinctive subzone of DO Penedès defined by its proximity to the sea and its calcareous soils with an abundance of marine fossils.
Harvested by hand, the grapes were traditionally vinified with indigenous yeasts. This Spanish red wine went through malolactic fermentation in French oak barrels, in which it was then aged for 12 months.
After that, the wine Gran Caus Negre 2022 was kept for at least 1 year in the cellar before its commercial release.
In order to fully enjoy it, it is advisable to decant this red wine from Penedès 1 hour before drinking.
