This is no ordinary rosé. Crafted by Can Ràfols dels Caus, the wine Gran Caus Rosat truly succeeds in merging the lightness of a rosé with the complexity of a red wine.
A varietal Merlot, this Spanish rosé wine from Penedès has the refinement of a Provence rosé and the bones of a good old Spanish rosado.
The grapevines are planted in sandy-limestone soils at an altitude of 300 metres above sea level. Certified organic, they are located in the Garraf Massif, a coastal area not far from Barcelona where soils have a very particular, salty minerality.
The grapes of this rosé wine from Penedès were harvested by hand, and the "free-run" juice was obtained after an 18 to 24 hour cold-soaking process.
After that, the wine Gran Caus Rosat 2024 spontaneously fermented in stainless steel tanks under controlled temperature. It was bottled unfiltered.

| Nose | Lively and enticing, this organic rosé wine exhibits very pure aromas of red berries, remembrances of strawberry milkshake, notes of aromatic herbs, such as rosemary, thyme and laurel, and a dash of withered flowers. The Merlot variety truly sings here. |
| Palate | On the palate, this wine from Can Ràfols dels Caus is seductive and well-balanced, with a fruity side that is simply delicious, and also a wonderful freshness. Medium-bodied, linear and tense, it is reminiscent of red berries, liquorice, and herbs, with a dim mineral background. This Penedès rosé wine has a medium, smooth finish with a salty and zesty note. |
