Highland Park 12 Years Viking Honour

Less well-known than other Scotch single malts – despite being as good as, if not better, than many household names – the whisky Highland Park 12 Years Viking Honour comes from the northernmost reaches of the Scottish mainland, the Orkney Islands, a windswept area of desolate beauty in which the Highland Park distillery has been producing whisky for more than two centuries.

Made from gently peated malt, this 12 year old Scotch Whisky was slowly distilled in Forsyths copper stills, considered the best in the world. After finishing the process, the whisky Highland Park 12 Years Viking Honour matured for 12 years in Sherry seasoned Eurpean and American oak casks.

Amber-coloured with some golden reflections, this Single Malt Whisky has a subtle and expressive nose, displaying aromas of Seville oranges, ginger bread and quince jelly, with hints of nutmeg, cinnamon and smoke. The palate of this Scotch Whisky of the Highland Park distillery is balanced and honey-ish, enlivened by candied citrus, spices and a dash of smoke.
