Produced by Orto Vins, the wine Les Comes d'Orto is a blended Spanish red wine from Montsant crafted following a philosophy of minimal intervention by the respected winemaker Joan Asens.
Made from Grenache and Carignan, the grapes were sourced from 40 to 75-year-old biodynamically farmed vines grown in several plots with soils of limestone and clay.
Each plot was separately harvested and traditionally vinified. Then this Crianza red wine was fermented in 500-litre oak barrels with indigenous yeasts and a 28-day maceration.
After that, the wine Les Comes d'Orto 2022 was transferred into used oak barrels 5 to 12 years of age, where it went through malolactic fermentation and was aged for 12 months.
Pair this Montsant red wine with cured cheeses and stews.
